Quick Reference Guide for Plant Growth Rates
When making combinations, we recommend pairing up vigor ratings of the plants to help achieve the most uniform overall look of your combinations.
  • All plants are given a vigor rating on a scale of 1 to 4 based on how big and quickly they grow.
  • Plants with the least vigor—slower, smaller growers—are rated lower on the vigor scale, while fast-growing plants with the greatest vigor are rated higher.
  • Vigor ratings for each plant can be found in the variety descriptions of the Four Star catalog.
* Disclaimer: Our vigor ratings are meant to be used as a guide only.
